Can the use of AI protect democracy?|AI
https://time.com/6684266/openai-democracy-artificial-intelligence/
The company wanted to find out whether deliberative technologies, like Polis, could provide a path toward AI alignment upon which large swaths of the public could agree. In return, Megill might learn whether LLMs were the missing puzzle piece he was looking for to help Polis finally overcome the flaws he saw in democracy.
This is a Time article, and it is worth reading. I think it shows that AI firms and entrepreneurs, such as Open AI, are not just drowning in cool technology, but are thinking quite hard about how AI should be used to correct the problems of democracy in the world today.
This kind of big picture thinking is what we need to implement new technologies in society, and also, in the process, it creates technologies that will be profitable as well….

Their main focus is on the fact that society has been greatly divided by the development of SNS and other factors, and that technology has already emerged that can systematically fuel even more division, and how to make the principle of democratic majority rule work well nevertheless.
How can the new AI and the old democracy work hand in hand…? It is truly an adventure and in many ways, “brave new world”.
