I am already really stumped, and I think Japan only has a few more years or so of opportunity to digitize at a level commensurate with its GDP and current economic position in the world. Seriously.
I’ll be gentle and say 5-6 more years to go, but even if things start moving in the next 5 years, I think the deadline will have passed long ago…. So, if we want to get the maximum effect, I think we really have about 3 years left.
However, there are people, especially young bureaucrats, who have a real sense of urgency, and they are working on it. One of them is a “Digital Agency,” which is the subject of this article.
The article features an unavoidable contradiction between a country known for its large tech companies and a surprisingly analogue government landscape. How far can we go to turn it back and catch up? Estonia, Singapore, and the U.K. are the countries they are now actively trying to learn from.
「an unavoidable contradiction between a country known for its large tech companies and a surprisingly analogue government landscape」という、とても歪な国家の姿を返上し、遅れを取り戻すために、どこまでできるか?
